Rusty moves in

“Wait ‘til you see what I’ve got for you, Zahli!” Ooooeeee, that was sweeeet music to these little furry ears! Visions of delightful tummy filling goodies danced before me. Then again, perhaps I was about to receive a new toy!!! I looked up at Mum, eyes bulging & heart racing with anticipation……..& she heads for the back door!!!

I jumped excitedly (a bit like a Kangaroo really), from the steps to the path, then onto the pavers (still no surprise!), & twirling wildly, I headed for the lawn where Mum was standing, smiling. Well, where was this great treat then? “His name is Rusty!” Mum stated.

Standing before me, under the bush, was this little brown fellow with the skinniest short legs I’d even seen! His large floppy ears looked just like Dumbo’s!!! He was a happy little chappy though! His head nodded & his tail (that coincidentally, curled just like mine, but in the opposite direction!), wagged nonstop.  Rusty obviously liked me because he let me sniff him & then………..drink from his water bowl!!!! How cool is that? And yes, that water was really cool & in complete contrast to our 34 degree sunshine!!!

That little fellow has made himself right at home. Hard as I try, Rusty won’t leave his post in order to run wildly with me, over field & dale!!!! He does know just how to put a smile on their dials though. The trouble is………he just wants to stand there, head nodding & tail wagging……….all the time! He should’ve been named………..Noddy, I reckon (ha ha)!!!

Phew! I need to down some of Rusty’s water now! This tropical weather we’re having lately is enough to send a little furball……..troppo!!!!

If you’re at all keen on taking a squiz at this addition to our family, just look below!

Until next time…………..keep some sunshine in your hearts & some goodies in your bellies!

Waggy tails, Lhasa licks,
Zahli xxx
